Total refurbishment of all facades to this impressive residential building. CWD was given the task of returning the windows, doors, curtain wall, glazed roof lights and general glazing back to the just installed designer look.

Located in a mews off the Kings Road, London SW3. Atlantic Court is an impressive residential building that was in need of complete facade refurbishment to return it to its wonderful mews like design.

CWD were nominated by Maurice Fitz George Ltd Chartered Surveyors to work with principal contractor PJ Harte to carry out the specialist works.

WORK COMPLETED

  • Water testing: (pre-works) to 10 No. Test areas were carried out to pinpoint ingress areas.
  • Replacing curtain wall caps and pressure plates: We removed the cover caps, pressure plates and single, eagle gaskets and fitted new Schueco dual gaskets, foil backed butyl tape, pressure plate and cover cap finished to a matching PPC RAL colour.
  • Renewing silicone seals: All existing silicone seals previously applied to the glazed curtain wall system and components were thoroughly removed and renewed. 
  • Curtain wall airflow/drainage mouldings: 25% of missing airflow/drainage mouldings were replaced with new. 
  • Replacement glazing: 16 No. large curved, 5 shaped, 40 rectangle and 4 curved Okalux double glazed units were removed and reglazed with new.
  • Restorative clean: All PPC finishes with the exception of the new caps were restoratively cleaned using our specialist fluids. 
  • Front entrance: The front entrance was beyond restorative cleaning, so we carried out a full, 10 year guaranteed, paint respray.
  • Copings: All defective coping sealants were thoroughly cleaned off and replaced with new.   
  • Glazed pitched roof: The outer caps, pressure plates and Eagle gasket were removed and new Schueco dual gaskets, foil backed butyl tape, mullion pressure plates and cover caps finished to a standard PPC ral colour were fitted along with chamfered, water throw off, transom PPC pressure caps. Defective perimeter sealant was thoroughly removed, and new sealant was applied.
  • Water testing: (post works) The 10 No. pretested areas were retested resulting in water no longer entering the building.
